Women's Health Track
Few medical schools and residencies explore gender differences in health promotion, illness or health care delivery.
The MSU/KCMS Women’s Health Track trains residents to recognize medical conditions that manifest themselves differently in women than men and how to effectively treat those conditions.
As you expand your knowledge beyond women’s reproductive health issues, you’ll be learning to provide comprehensive primary care to both men and women. The Women’s Health Track, sponsored by the Internal Medicine Program, is open to all interested residents participating in MSU/KCMS primary care programs.
The following are a few highlights:
- The track is integrated into both the internal medicine and medicine/pediatric residency programs and available upon request to family practice and pediatric residents.
- The track’s curriculum draws from many disciplines including gynecology, cardiology, endocrinology, nutrition, psychiatry, surgery, general internal medicine, pathology and radiology.
- Residents can customize the women’s health curriculum to meet personal career goals.
- Participating residents who successfully complete the track’s requirements receive a Women’s Health Certificate.
