Senior Electives
The Kalamazoo campus of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (MSU/KCMS) accepts students from other medical schools for senior elective rotations.
MSU/KCMS encourages applications from students attending either an LCME or AOA accredited medical school. A few MSU/KCMS programs will also consider applicants from the following medical schools: American University of the Caribbean, Ross University Medical School, SABA University School of Medicine, St. George's University, St. Matthew's University, or the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara.

Application Information
All electives are four weeks in duration. To apply for an elective on the Kalamazoo Campus:
1. Complete Section I of the elective application form. The application form can be located at Application Form.
2. Have your Dean's office complete the remaining sections of the application form. Please note that if your Dean's office is unable to verify that you meet all MSU/KCMS health requirements, etc., you will be responsible for supplying proof that you meet these requirements. Students must:
1. Provide their own means of transportation during an elective.
2. If elective occurs between 10/1 - 3/31, student must show proof of receipt of an influenza vaccination.
Financial Assistance
Students are provided the following:
- Free housing (as available). Call (269) 337-4610 to reserve housing as soon as elective is confirmed.
- Food while on duty at the hospitals
Academic Elective Dates
Academic year 2009 - 2010:
Electives are available August 3, 2009 through June 25, 2010.
Note: Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 applications will be processed beginning in April 2010.
