MSU/KCMS Department of Continuing Medical Education (CME) is an institution fully accredited by the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) Committee on CME Accreditation. It is our privilege to approve CME activities for AMA PRA Category 1 credit™. MSMS Committee on CME Accreditation is recognized by the Committee on Review and Recognition, which is a subcommittee of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).
Departmental Mission Statement
- Offer a full gamut of activities including weekly and monthly CME activities. Single and multi-day conferences incorporating interactive didactic sessions and other presentation methodologies to allow physicians to better serve their patient populations by improving the quality of care and health knowledge.
- Establish and promote programs for the continuing professional development of physicians. Provide consultative services for hospitals or other health related organizations as needed to facilitate high quality education in the region.
- Organize, develop, and promote a diverse continuing medical education program that meets the needs of physicians primarily in Southwestern Michigan. Programs will provide current and relevant information focusing on multiple specialties to serve physicians representing various specialty disciplines. Topics are based on needs assessment data as well as other sources.
Important News: CME Goes Electronic
In order to streamline some of our processes, the CME department plans to reduce and/or eliminate many of our paper communications and reports. In the future, these will only be sent to those for whom we have email addresses. If you have not already supplied us with your preferred email address, please send it to us at cme@kcms.msu.edu so that you don’t miss any important communications. This will be a gradual process. We would like to have email addresses for everyone by November 1, 2008.
